Softball is still our signature piece, but now we also offer bowling, swimming, wheelchair football, after school fitness clinics, summer day camps at the Sports Complex, parent’s night out respite care and Family Camping Retreats on Lake Oconee. Our social activities include various holiday parties, cook-outs and trips to a wide variety of sports and entertainment venues.

Softball
The NMML offers spring and fall adapted softball programs. We currently have 20 teams, 3 levels of competition and our players range in age from 4 to 78. Much of the leagues success can be attributed to the work of the 18 Special Education and Adapted P.E. teachers that act as coaches and advisors.

Each of the NMML players has an on field Buddy to assist with the things the player’s disability makes difficult or impossible. The resulting interaction between buddy and player is an essential part of our mission. We want to remove the barriers to inclusion, accommodation and friendship that often arise just because a person has a disability. Over the last three years more than 1500 volunteers, from a pool of over 3000, have shared the “gift of time” with a NMML player. These volunteers come from corporations, civic organizations, area high schools, faith based institutions and typical youth sports programs.

Camping
Because of broad based community support during the summer of 2008 we were able conduct six weeks of Summer Day Camp (Respite Care) at our North Park Adapted Sports Complex. In addition we hosted seven 3 day 2 night family camping retreats on Lake Oconee. These retreats involved 10 families per session, the disabled child, the parents and the siblings. We also added three sessions for children from the Jars of Clay Children’s Shelter (a strategic partner) in South Atlanta so over the course of the summer all 67 children under their care spent at least 3 days at the No Limits Oconee Camp.
Wheelchair Football
Wheelchair football is the latest addition to our growing list of activities with our first season getting underway in the Spring of 2010.  Please view the schedule and rules at the following links.  You can also find out more by contacting Marcello Fuentes.

Social Activites
Our social activities include various holiday parties, cook-outs and trips to a wide variety of sports and entertainment venues. During the Hawks and Thrashers seasons we take a hundred or more NMML Family members to games several times a month. Every Christmas the Alliance Theater dedicates the last dress rehearsal of the Christmas Carol to the NMML and gives us the entire 600 seat theater for our families and friends. We are regular guests at the Center for Puppetry Arts and last year we took over 500 people to the Circus.
