Now that the baseball season is well under way, it is interesting to see how the Braves are doing, despite their ongoing injuries. Smoltz and Hampton, are on the disabled list. Even so, the Braves started the season hot, and they are playing ok. The Braves have a great record playing at home; ont the road, though, it's a different story. They have the worst away record in the major leagues.
Chipper and the young hitters are carrying the team. Chipper is playing the best ball of his career. To still contend in the NL East, consistent pitching is necessary. Campillo and JoJo Reyes have been doing pretty well filling in. Our pitching needs to remain strong, especially after the All-Star Break, going into August and September. The bullpen is much better this year, which is a plus. Currently, the Braves are in third place, but I believe they will take over first place in NL East by the end of June. |
